633 changes since september 17, 2026: new things, better things and fixes, in plain words. one goes up every time something ships.

november 1, 2026

  1. better

    Lighter pages and quicker typing

    • Profile pictures in chats, the feed and the leaderboard now load as small copies, so long lists download far less and scroll more smoothly.
    • Typing a Post no longer redraws the whole feed on every key.
    • A sleeping momo uses much less of your battery.
  2. fixed

    Replies are easier to read

    • The message you’re replying to now sits above your reply instead of tucked under it, and it’s solid enough to read over any chat theme.
  3. better

    Home has its own address

    • Home and all its pages now live at yumu.gg/home. Old dashboard links and bookmarks still take you to the right place.
    • Fixed: in the feed link animation, the @ could clip into the / as the link closed up.
  4. better

Shorter feed profile links, and the dashboard is now home

    • Your feed profile now lives at yumu.gg/@yourname. Old /feed/@ links still take people there.
    • The dashboard is called home everywhere, and yumu.gg/home takes you straight to it.
  5. new

    yumu lives at yumu.gg now

    • Your page now lives at yumu.gg/you. Old yumu.lol links still bring people to it, so nothing you shared breaks.
    • Spaces get a short link at yumu.lol/yourspace. Copy it from your Space settings.
    • Your @yumu.lol mail address keeps working, and you can pick @yumu.gg too.
  6. new

Listen has lyrics that follow along, and playlists you can share

    • Lyrics follow the song line by line, in the player, the little player at the bottom and full screen (press L). Tap a line to jump there. They stay in time when you speed a song up or slow it down.
    • Search, your library and the song playing are on one screen now, so nothing stops when you look around. Press / to search and space to play or pause.
    • Each song colours the page from its cover, and every word stays easy to read on any cover.
    • Share any playlist as a link. Anyone can play the full songs, even without an account, and people who are signed in can save a copy. Turn the link off whenever you like. Songs you uploaded yourself stay private.
    • Up next shows what time each song starts, and where your sleep timer stops the music.
  7. fixed

Spaces are easier to use on every sky

    • The menu at the top of a Space is readable again during the day, and nothing pokes through it anymore.
    • Pick one on a jukebox takes you straight to the song search, even in a small window.
    • The moon moved over, so it no longer sits on top of a Space’s name or description.
    • The bunny on a Space’s welcome screen stays in front of the come in button.
    • A Space’s name and description are white on the daytime sky now.
  8. fixed

Songs keep playing, and Spaces stay put

    • When the music service drops out mid-song, yumu now picks the song back up from the same spot, so it should keep playing.
    • Opening a room at the end of a Space no longer pushes the chat sideways on desktop themes.
  9. new

    Make your Space your own

    • Welcome new members properly: turn on a welcome screen that shows which of their friends are already inside, your busiest rooms and your rules.
    • momo can say hello to new members, you can pick the room they land in, start them muted, and keep brand-new accounts from joining by link.
    • Give your Space an accent colour and a font for its name, and give each room its own icon and colour.
    • Every room can have a topic, slow mode, and its own rule for who can post: everyone, just the owner and admins, or nobody at all.
    • Choose what members can do, like sending photos, using momo or joining voice rooms, and make custom roles that add to it.
  10. fixed

    Calls stay connected

    • Couches and group calls were dropping after a few seconds and reconnecting over and over. They stay up now.
  11. better

Hide the rooms in a Space

    • Want more room for the chat? The new button at the top of a Space folds the rooms away, and it remembers your choice.
    • While they’re hidden you can still see which room you’re in, and a pink dot on the button tells you when something’s on.

  1. new

Spaces are tucked in, and chats got gorgeous

    • A Space is a quilt now. Every room is a patch, everyone’s face peeks over the room they’re in, and a little bulb lights up over any room with someone in it.
    • Rooms nobody’s in have someone asleep under the cloth. Tap them to hit them with a pillow. They’ll wake up about it.
    • Every Space comes with a couch for drop-in voice with no ringing, and a jukebox where everyone hears the same song and hearts decide what’s next. Owners and admins can remove them, and they stay gone.
    • Game night is a new kind of room too, with momo running voice games.
    • Your chat list shows what’s going on in your Spaces, and Discover has a live now tab.
    • Every chat has a new look: a wall of slow colour behind it, frosted glass bubbles, and your own bubbles shifting colour as they climb the screen. All nine themes got the same treatment.
  2. fixed

No box around the terminal prompt

    • The desktop terminal no longer draws a focus box around the line you type on. The blinking cursor shows where you are.
  3. new

Desktop themes can be a real desktop

    • Desk works like a computer now: click an app and it opens in its own window. Open as many as you like, drag them around, resize them from any edge, and minimize, maximize or close them. Already wearing Desk? Wear it again from Themes to get the new one.
    • The taskbar shows every open window, and the yumu button in the corner lists all your apps.
    • There’s a terminal too. Type `open messages` to open an app, `ls` to see them all, or `help` for the rest. Some commands aren’t on the list, so go looking.
    • Making your own desktop theme? Pick windows: a real desktop in the theme studio. Desktop themes you already have still show one window until you switch it on.
  4. new

    Four new official dashboard themes

    • Night Bus, Moon Café, Koi Pond and Snow Cabin are in Themes now, each painted from one of yumu’s postcards and each using a different layout: a dock, a menu bar, an icon rail and a sidebar.
    • Each has its own little detail: the open app lit like a bus window, a striped café awning across the top, ripples spreading from the app you have open, and snow drifting down behind your cards.
    • Desk has moved into a lamplit library, and every official theme now lights up the open tab in the bottom bar on your phone.
    • Press try on to see one over your dashboard before you wear it.
    • With a dock or icon rail, chats no longer leave a strip of bare wallpaper: along a bottom or side dock they sit in a rounded window, and next to a rail they meet it edge to edge.
    • On a desktop theme like Desk, the feed scrolls inside its window instead of running past the window’s edge.
  5. better

    Questions that look like yumu

    • Deleting a playlist, story or outfit, blocking someone, leaving a group and other “are you sure?” moments now ask in a yumu dialog instead of the browser’s grey box. They work inside Discord’s and Instagram’s built-in browsers too, where the old boxes could silently do nothing.
    • For anything you can’t undo, the dialog starts on “cancel”, so a stray Enter never deletes.
    • Every tab has its own name now (Log in, Editor, Messages, Settings and the rest), so you can tell your yumu tabs apart.
    • The sign-in fields are labelled for screen readers, and the show-password eye is easier to tap.
  6. better

    yen’s room, now on film

    • yumu.lol/x has a camera now: the intro cuts to black, then pulls out from a close-up of yen into the room.
    • The camera leans in while yen talks, pushes in when the tile gets tense, and shakes when something breaks.
    • The character in the room is called yen again, in the intro and in every conversation.
    • The picture glows like an old screen, with film grain, a soft vignette, window light by day and moonlight at night.
  7. fixed

    A cleaner status box

    • Typing a status no longer draws a second box inside the field.
  8. fixed

    The random door opens again

    • yumu.lol/random takes you to a random page again instead of a broken address. Signing in from the desktop app is fixed too.
  9. fixed

    momo has two hands again

    • momo no longer shows a second set of paws when she peeks over the feed's note box.
  10. newmanager

    Meet the Manager badge

    • Managers are the people helping run and grow yumu, from trusted staff to the ones looking after the community. Look for the new Manager badge on their pages.
  11. better

    The diamond is back

    • The yumu pro badge on your page is the purple diamond again. If you picked your own color for it, that stays.
  12. better

Raise a Momo is a real room now

    • Your Momo lives in a fully painted room, and every wallpaper you can unlock has been repainted too.
    • Tap her bowl, toy basket or bed to care for her. She walks over and acts it out, and her snacks and toys are drawn now.
    • The window follows your time of day, with rain over the city at night, and she gets tucked in under a blanket when she naps.
    • Open the closet to dress her up and watch her try things on right next to it.
  13. fixed

GIF pictures show up on Discord cards

    • Spaces and profiles with a GIF picture now show it on their Discord cards, as a still of the first frame, instead of an empty box.
  14. better

Logging in happens in momo’s room

    • Log in, sign up and password reset now open on the full room from the home page, with the form sewn into a stitched pink pocket and big jelly buttons.
    • momo sits on the edge of the form and shuts her eyes while you type your password.
    • On phones, Discord log-in now fits on the first screen, so there’s no scrolling to find it.
  15. better

Explore, Spaces and Notifications joined the quilt

    • Explore is a quilt of real pages now: every swatch is dyed in that person’s own colour, pages with a background get the room to show it, and the page of the week wears a prize rosette.
    • Spaces is a street of windows. Each Space’s picture is the glass, the lamp comes on when you look at a room and stays on in the ones you’ve joined, and momo’s friends sit on top of tonight’s pick.
    • Notifications hang on one running thread that sews itself down the page, sorted into the last 24 hours, this week and earlier, so you can see at a glance what’s new.
  16. fixed

    Tidier posts and reactions

    • Profile pictures stay inside post frames in replies and threads, instead of poking over the edge.
    • Reactions have a little more room between them, so they’re easier to tell apart and tap.
  17. better

The feed is a quilt now

    • The feed got a cozy new look: every post is its own padded patch, sewn onto a quilt under the lamp, and the stitches sew themselves around new posts as they arrive.
    • It says hi for the time of day and tells you how many posts are new since you last looked.
    • momo peeks over the note box, leans in while you write and hops when your post goes out. Tap her for a boop.
    • The tabs stay at the top while you scroll, likes squish and throw little hearts, and the bottom of the feed has a way back up.
    • Feed profiles and post pages are sewn from the same quilt, and everything follows your dashboard theme (orange for Halloween).
  18. better

Space links look great in Discord

    • Paste a Space or group chat link in Discord and it shows an invite card: the Space’s picture, name, check, description and members, with a real Join button under it.
    • Everywhere else (and in older Discord apps) the link shows the same card as its preview picture, with a drawn Join button.
  19. fixed

Templates copy the look, not the person

    • Using a template no longer swaps in its creator’s picture, extra sections, favicon, badge order or song cover and lyrics. It brings the look and its freeform positions, and your own content stays yours.
    • Template previews in the gallery now show a freeform layout the way the page really looks, instead of pushing the name and picture off the edge.
    • Reset design only resets the look again: your picture, extra sections, element order, badge settings, dragged positions, favicon and your song’s cover and lyrics all stay.
